Story Mimic is built for careful editing. Here is what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can stay in control.

What we collect
We store account information, manuscripts, section metadata, voice reference clips, usage and billing events, settings, logs, notes, and pronunciation data so you can prepare and manage your audiobook workflow.
How we use it
We use your data to build your narration prep workspace, keep your scripts and dictionaries available, support collaboration, and operate billing and account features. We do not sell your data, and we do not use private workspace content for model training.
Sharing and processing
We use Clerk for authentication, AWS for storage, Stripe for billing, and hosting/monitoring providers to operate the service. When processing is required, we share only the minimum information needed for that service.
Retention and deletion
Manuscripts, prep data, notes, pronunciation entries, and character profiles remain saved even if your subscription becomes inactive, so you can regain access by subscribing again. Saved audio references (voice references and pronunciation audio) are removed after 14 days without an active subscription; the underlying entries are kept. Retention timelines are approximate and may change. You can delete reference audio or use “delete everything” to delete your account and content from our active systems. Some records may be retained for legal, tax, fraud prevention, and backup recovery windows. Manuscript text remains intact to preserve traceability of edits unless you delete the project.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use cookies required for authentication and core app functionality. On our public marketing pages we also use analytics and advertising tools — including PostHog (product analytics), Google Analytics, and the Google Ads (Google tag) — to understand site traffic, measure conversions, and analyze the performance of our marketing campaigns. These tools are not loaded inside the signed-in app, where we never apply session recording or autocapture to your private workspace. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. We do not sell your personal data.
California residents
California residents can request access to or deletion of their data. We do not sell personal data.
