Do I need a credit card for the first-audiobook prep trial?+
No. Eligible narrators can start the 30-day first-audiobook prep trial without a credit card.
What happens when the trial ends?+
When the 30-day trial ends, continued owner access to subscription-gated prep features requires an active Narrator plan. Your project data stays saved, so you can pick up where you left off whenever you subscribe. You can continue monthly or yearly when you are ready.
What happens to my work if my subscription is inactive?+
Your project data — books, chapters, sections, notes, markup, pronunciation entries, and character profiles — stays saved while your subscription is inactive. Saved audio references (voice references and pronunciation audio) are removed after 14 days without an active subscription. Subscribe again before then and nothing is deleted; subscribing later still restores access to your retained project data.
Can collaborators access a project?+
Yes. Workspace seats let invited collaborators access the book areas permitted by their role, such as notes, proofing context, workflow status, or narration prep.
Can I create and access books without an active plan?+
The active Narrator plan gates owner access to subscription features and book prep workflows. Shared collaborator access follows the seat permissions on the project.
What is Story Mimic not?+
Story Mimic is not AI narration, a narrator replacement, a DAW, a final-take recorder, an editing suite, a mastering tool, or an audiobook distributor. See How it works and Features.
Is my manuscript used for model training?+
No. Private manuscripts, notes, pronunciation entries, voice references, and workspace content are not used for model training. See How we use your data.
Can I request deletion?+
Yes. You can remove saved assets in the product and contact support@storymimic.com for deletion, privacy, or data questions. Some records may be retained for legal, tax, fraud prevention, and backup recovery windows. Visit Contact.

Working with client manuscripts?

Story Mimic stores your manuscript and prep data so your workspace works. Your private workspace content is not used for model training, and collaborators only see what you invite them to see. If your contract requires approval before using third-party tools, check with the rights holder or producer first.
